The race for the 5th and 6th spot on the South Carolina Team for the GA/SC Girls Junior Challenge Matches came down to a three-person playoff. The first 4 spots were made up of Caroline Hawkins, Claire Green, Lina Polteraitis, and Olivia Roberts. The 5th and 6th spot playoff was decided by one playoff hole, on the par 4 number 18. The playoff was between Mia Carles, Robbin Zetrouer, and Ella Barnett. All three players hit the fairway and Mia Carles hit a fantastic long drive giving her a close shot to the green. Robbin's second shot went off to the right of the green about pin high giving her a challenging up and down. Ella's second shot made the front of the green and left her with a 20ft putt. Mia hit an outstanding second shot landing about four feet from the hole giving her a great birdie look. Robbin was unable to get up and down and finished with a bogey. Ella had a wonderful putt that gave her an easy tap in for par which secured her spot on the team. Finally, Mia secured the number 5 spot on the team, finishing the hole with a birdie. These 6 girls will be representing South Carolina as they square off against the state of Georgia at King and Prince Resort and Golf Club in St. Simons Georgia. 1st Alternate: Robin Zetrouer; 2nd Alternate: Annabel Carmen.
